Keep Your Employees Happy at Work

The Phoenix Business Journal recently published an article on how to keep your employees happy at work. Workplace happiness is being focused on more than ever, and work environment is a big topic right now. Work-life balance is what most employees are asking for the most. The Phoenix Business Journal recognizes this hot topic, and that is why they recently wrote on this concept of keeping your employees happy at work. Employees are more connected to work than ever and are working from anywhere at anytime so to say; this can lead to some frustration. The “work anytime, anywhere” idea was recently studied by a division of Staples, and this study looks at employee attitudes and happiness tied to work. Let’s see what the study found…

The study found that:

  • 52% of office workers say they are suffering from burnout as a result of hours they work, 86% are still happy at work and motivated to rise in their organizations

Now onto the advice of how to keep your employees happy…here are some ways how to do this:

  1. Hours – encourage employees to work outside “normal” hours and incorporate flexible scheduling…this can actually lead to employees being more productive and happier at the same time
  2. Invest in your employees – make sure your employees have the tools they need…update their technology and supplies
  3. Encourage breaks…taking breaks can allow the employee to recharge and then be more productive and tackle the tasks at hang after a rejuvenating break
