14 Work Days of Love

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, you are sure to begin swooning over the word “love”. Perhaps you’ve already made plans to treat your spouse to a romantic evening (or upon reading that sentence, are currently Googling romantic restaurants for last minute dinner reservations.) You may be assisting your second grader in making the coolest Valentine’s Day card box for school, or just trying to forget about the Hallmark holiday all together. Regardless, the last thing on your mind is likely your job. Why not? Do you dislike your workplace or are you simply staying because you don’t feel like job hunting? Or are you thinking “it really isn’t that bad”?

Wherever you may stand on the spectrum of love for your job, now is the time to turn it up a few notches. We have all heard the phrase, “you need to love yourself before you can love anyone else”, but how do you begin to love yourself when you can’t be proud of what you do? According to The Huffington Post, step 5 in loving yourself unconditionally is “accepting where you are right now”. If you are reading this, you could be single or deeply in love -but nevertheless, you are employed -and this is worth celebrating!

This February, start the journey to loving yourself by taking a moment to reflect on why you love the work that you do. January 26 marks the first day of Omni One’s 14 Work Days of Love. Our team at Omni One is dead serious about loving our workplace and remaining passionate about our trade. We encourage you to share what keeps you loving your job, every work day through February 14, using the hashtag #14workdaysoflove!

(If you would like to share but you’re hitting a wall, visit The Muse to learn a few ways to “seriously love your job”!)
