Our client is growing and looking for personnel who will help take them to the next level. They have plans to double, and even triple their workforce in Northeast Ohio. While corporate is providing the financial backing to do this expansion, they are looking for experience to help guide this development. Currently, our client is adding a Product Development Engineer to their team in Akron. This person will have the ability to make their mark in the design and development of products during this exciting time for the company, as well as enjoy an excellent benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, bonus, 401k match, and more.

Duties of the Product Development Engineer include:

• Work with customers to determine product needs and parameters
• Design and develop medical implants
• Assist with development of labeling and graphics on implants
• Ensure product design and material selection comply with ISO 13485 and industries standards
• Complete engineering change requests and bill of materials
• Work with manufacturing to resolve design issues that affect manufacturability
• Work with vendors to improve materials that fit within design parameters
• Coordinate prototyping and testing of products

Requirements for the Product Development Engineer include:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Previous experience in the design and product development of medical device components
• Experience with 3D design
• Ability to work cohesively and coordinate with engineering, management, production and external personnel
