Our client is a large tier-1 automotive supplier with manufacturing locations across North America. They have a manufacturing facility north of Dayton, OH where they employee over 800 full-time employees. The current opening is for a Buyer. Main duties include:
- Work with suppliers and develop relationships
- Negotiate costs, contracts, and pricing
- Coordinate and track new model events
- Inventory control of parts
- Attend die trials, travel out of state when necessary
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required
- Prior purchasing experience within a manufacturing operation
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Strong negotiation ability
- Experience with cost analysis
- Must be a critical thinker, highly analytical
