Job Duties and Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager include:
- Leading strategic purchasing activities for multiple plants
- Negotiating with current and new suppliers to improve cost, processes and quality
- Developing and implementing strategies to direct suppliers to achieve cost reduction targets
- Establish departments goals, KPIs and lead team to meet these targets
- Evaluating and ensuring suppliers are achieve quality standards and requirements
- Partnering with all levels of manufacturing to ensure supply chain expectations are being achieved
- Developing and present supply chain reports to executive management team
- Estimating cost for new business development Issuing and evaluating RFQs
- Ensuring proper data is entered into ERP system
Requirements for the Purchasing Manager include:
- A four-year degree. Industry certifications are a plus
- Proven success and experience leading a sourcing -purchasing department for a high-volume manufacturing company
- Proven experience successfully identifying new suppliers and strategic negotiations
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to use ERP system to create and present reports
