Our client is an automotive supplier and they are searching for a talented Metallurgist to join their team. They have been in business since the late 1950’s and have been successful ever since. This is a direct hire role where you will have the ability to make an immediate impact. The current opening is for a Metallurgist. Main duties include:Act as the lead engineer for the heat treat and raw material departments
Establish and maintain heat treat and hardening process recipes
Oversee and supervise the metallurgical lab
Responsible for metallurgical analysis and all applicable testing
Maintain and calibrate the metallurgical lab equipment
Perform furnace temperature surveys
Perform root-cause analysis and implement solutions to heat treat quality issues
Qualifications include:
B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science
Minimum of 5+ years of experience
Experience with drawing and reading blueprints
Must be self-directed/self-motivated
Detail-oriented, analytical, strong problem-solving ability
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
