Proposal Estimating Engineer

• Estimate costs for the Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls components of capital equipment projects.
• Assist in the design and development of new systems, equipment, and standard cost evaluations.
• Define electrical components for integration into mechanical or electrical control systems.
• Support Sales and Technical Services in the development of comprehensive bid proposals.
• Collaborate with customer engineers to gather system requirements and translate them into functional technical specifications.
• Investigate and propose cost-effective alternatives that meet customer requirements (VA/VE).
• Present technical solutions to customer engineers through detailed presentations.
• Conduct site visits for pre-bid evaluations and proposal development.
• Travel as required to support project needs.
• Assist in supplier assessments and sourcing activities.

• Experience in system design and implementation within an industrial or manufacturing environment; automotive manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Proven experience in preparing estimates and bid proposals.
• Proficient in CAD software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills for updating clients, superiors, and peers regularly on project status.
• Basic experience in writing hardware specifications.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with manufacturing methods and procedures.
• Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.
