Resume writing can be tedious, especially for those who aren’t a walking thesaurus. Not everyone has the innate ability to scatter lavish words across their resume like bits of garnish on a 5 star restaurant’s dinner plate. But the verbs you use on your resume to demonstrate your skills can make or break your chances in the job hunt. Make sure you are using the most powerful action verbs possible in order to effectively demonstrate your worth to the company.

Try some of these on for size:

1. Accomplished: You will feel the same way after using this word.

2. Converted: The perfect way to spice up your resume is to do this to boring verbs.

3. Crafted: Like a fine brew, this word will make your resume a hiring manager’s favorite.

4. Directed: It’s not just for the film industry.

5. Eliminated: Much more useful than the clunky “got rid of”.

6. Encouraged: This helpful verb will make you seem like a team player.

7. Ensured: It’s not just a drink for old people.

8. Established: If you laid the groundwork for a project, this verb is right for you.

9. Expanded: You can increase your resume’s influence with this word.

10. Implemented: Because projects and ideas are useless without this step.
