Setting Time for a Work-Life Balance
Posted July 31, 2018 & filed under Productivity, Work Life

If you find yourself sitting at work stressed and trying to juggle the facets of daily life, you aren't alone. According to a study done by Gallup, eight out of ten Americans are afflicted by stress daily. To most working professionals, the idea of a healthy work-life balance seems impossible. As our duties get out of balance, stress levels increase and begin to affect our lives. The recurring cycle of stress can be alleviated through proper planning and time management skills.
1.Set your priorities first
-
Make a daily To-Do list. Put the most important tasks down first.
-
Eliminate the non-essential duties that you don't absolutely have to get done that day.
2. Know your strengths
-
Are you a morning person or night owl? Assign high-concentration tasks to the time frame in which you are most alert.
-
Don't try to be and do everything. Eliminate or delegate the benign tasks.
3. Manage your short and long-term time
-
Create a timeline of what you want to get done by what date; include holidays, birthdays, etc.
-
Look ahead to future events. Prepare in advance for birthdays, parties, and other events.
4. Take a break
-
Do something you love for a few minutes each day
-
Go on a 10-minute walk for fresh air
-
Get up and stretch throughout your work day
In a life full of constant exhaustion, these steps can change your life. The home and the workplace can both be enjoyable environments, and the time is now to begin seeing the stress-free side of life.
